UI SU holds Personality lecture, celebrates SU Week

The University of Ibadan Students’ Union, UI SU held a Personality Lecture on Monday 1st of May, 2023 at the Trenchard Hall to commemorate the ongoing UI SU Week.

The personality lecture tagged Prof. Isaac Adewole Lecture was organized to help students of the institution achieve success amidst overwhelming internal and external factors.

According to the chairperson of the UI SU Week committee, Zainab Oluotanmi, the Theme of the event ‘Strategies for Building Confidence and Achieving Success’ was strategically chosen with the student community in mind.

In the chairman’s speech, Professor Isaac Adewole represented by Professor Ayelari Ambrose encouraged students to hold tightly, the values and trainings gained on campus.

In his words, Professor Adewole advised students to ‘imbibe the spirit of entrepreneurship while ensuring balance with their academics’.

Speaking at the event, Professor Jacob Ayantayo, a professor in the department of Religious Studies and a Keynote Speaker at the event emphasized the need for students to respect and appreciate their personal peculiarities.

In his speech titled ‘Discovering and developing the I can do it in You’, the professor reiterated that relationship building, wise spending, honesty, tolerance, humility amongst others are essential factors to success in life.

The event was graced with men and women from all walks of life including, Olawale Bakare, JCI Immediate past National President, Professor Abdul Rasak Akinola Dean of Student Affairs.
