In the heart of every vibrant neighbourhood, there’s a pulse that beats stronger than the individual homes and businesses that comprise it. It’s the rhythm of community, where people from all walks of life come together to support, uplift, and thrive. As the African proverb goes, “It takes a village to raise a child,” but it also takes a village to create a fulfilling life.

Meet Mrs. Ademola, a resident of the revitalized Bodija neighbourhood in Ibadan. Just a few years ago, Bodija was plagued by poor infrastructure and neglect. But through the tireless efforts of community leaders, residents, and the government, the neighbourhood has transformed into a thriving hub of activity. “We didn’t just want to live in a place,” Mrs. Ademola says, “we wanted to create a home.”

At the forefront of this transformation was the Bodija Community Development Association (BCDA), a group of residents in Bodija came together to address pressing issues like waste management, security, and education.
