UI’SU Demands Fee Breakdown, Sets May 10 Deadline After Town Hall Resolutions

The University of Ibadan Students’ Union, UI’SU, Executive Council has released a memo on the outcomes of the Town Hall Meeting held on May 1st, 2025, with student leaders across the university.

According to the memo with the signatories of the Students President, Covenant Odedele and the general secretary, Segun V. Olowu, “a request was made to Faculty and Departmental Presidents to submit detailed breakdowns of school fees paid by their students. This data is crucial for the Students’ Union’s engagement with the university management.”

The Students’ Union has also pledged to compile all raised concerns and forward them to the University Management for immediate attention and necessary action. Furthermore, based on feedback from upcoming consultations with the administration, “a general Congress may be convened on or before Saturday, May 10th, to deliberate further.”

Lastly, The UI’SU Executive Council expressed deep appreciation for the commitment shown by student leaders during the Town Hall Meeting. “Your contributions are invaluable as we collectively work towards addressing the challenges facing our student community,” the memo stated.
