After two hours, the President of the University of Ibadan Students’ Union, Covenant Odedele, cancelled the congress because of low turnout of students at the congress.
Addressing the students, President Odedele announced that the congress could not proceed due to the failure to reach a quorum.
“We have tried our possible best to reach a quorum for this congress. We want to apologise to everybody. The congress has been cancelled because the attendance of students doesn’t form quorum,” he stated.
The announcement caused commotions as students are displeased over the delay and and the abrupt cancellation when their demands are still on met. The Congress has been suspended till further notice.
The congress ended abruptly as the president walked out of the congress while students claimed that he sat in his office while students were mobilising people.
