Hersync, a menstrual health initiative, held a menstrual awareness programme at Obafemi Awolowo Hall, on July 12, 2025, to educate female students on the importance of tracking their menstrual cycles and understanding their reproductive health.

The event, which took place at the hall’s quadrangle, featured the distribution of free sanitary products and consultation sessions with health professionals. It also introduced students to the Hersync mobile application, which uses artificial intelligence to help users monitor their menstrual flow and fertility patterns.

Toyosi Daniel, a registered nurse with Oyomesi, said the programme aimed to increase awareness about menstrual health, especially among students who do not track their cycles regularly. “A lot of ladies have not been tracking their menstrual flow. They do not even know — they only know that every month, there is a particular date,” she said.

According to her, the initiative had previously visited all female hostels at the University of Ibadan. “Awo is the last hall we have not been to, so we decided to come,” she added.

Daniel explained that the Hersync app provides users with detailed information about their reproductive system and answers to menstrual health questions. “We just brought this app into the limelight, and we thought it wise to increase awareness,” she said.

The programme ended with the distribution of free sanitary pads to residents of the hall who attended the session.
