The Awo Hall Independent Electoral Commission, AHIEC, has lifted the ban on all electoral activities and commenced the sale of nomination forms ahead of the 2025 Awo Hall students’ elections. The announcement was made by the Awo Hall Independent Electoral Commission in a special release issued on Friday, December 13th, 2025.
According to the release, following the lift of the ban, aspirants and their supporters are now free to begin campaigns and other electoral activities in accordance with AHIEC regulations.
Furthermore, the electoral Commission disclosed that the sale of nomination forms will run from December 12 to December 20. Positions available include President, Vice President, Secretary of State, Assistant Secretary of State, various ministerial offices, and members of the Hall Representative Council HRC.
Nomination forms are priced at ₦6,000 for President, ₦5,500 for Vice President, ₦5,000 for Secretary of State, ₦4,000 for Assistant Secretary of State, and ₦5,000 for each ministerial position, while the HRC form costs ₦2,000.
Also, AHIEC stated the guidelines that aspirants must follow. These include an academic transcript with a minimum CGPA of 2.0, current school fees receipt, Awo Hall dues receipt, passport photograph, student identity card, signed course form, and recommendation letters from two reputable Awoites. Aspirants holding positions in any student body are also required to submit resignation letters.
The Electoral Commission further issued guidelines to regulate the conduct of aspirants and their supporters. It warned against defacing hall property with campaign materials, engaging in vandalism or unruly behaviour, and violating electoral procedures. Students running concurrent programmes in more than one institution were also declared ineligible to contest. AHIEC noted that any breach of the guidelines may result in disqualification or other disciplinary measures.
Nomination forms are obtainable through the Chairman of the electoral commission, Raji Khadijat, and the Secretary, Awe Tomilola.
The Commission urged aspirants and members of the hall community to ensure peaceful conduct throughout the electoral process to guarantee a free, fair, and credible election.
